SEVANATHA is implementing a COMMUNITY BASED SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT which is known as Integrated Resource Recovery Centre (IRRC) project financed by UNESCAP. The project is implemented in Matale and Ratnapura Municipal Council areas in Sri Lanka.

SEVANATHA is close associate of ACHR since early 1990s and continue its relationship with ACHR to the present time. After the Asian Tsunami in December, 2004 ACHR has expanded its support to Tsunami victims for rebuilding their lives. In which SEVANTHA also played an important role since 2009 ACHR has provided support to SEVANATHA under the program called ACCA (Asian Coalition for Community Action) to empower the Urban poor in identified cities in Sri Lanka. SEVANATHA is implementing the ACCA program in 13 cities at present.

SEVANATHA is NGO member of CITYNET since past two decades. SEVANATHA and CITYNET have exchange resource and experiences in the fields of Human Settlement Development and Urban environment Management. SEVANATHA is maintaining a strong partnership with the SRI LANKA WOMEN’S DEVELOPMNET SERVICES COPERATIVE SOCIETY Ltd (Women’s Coop) since its inception. SEVANATHA has initiated collaborative partnership with Women’s coop and formed the Community Livelihood Action Facility Network (CLAFNet) under the ACHR’s ACCR program to implement a housing and livelihoods improvement program for the urban and rural poor in Sri Lanka in 2009. This partnership arrangement is continuing successfully by sharing the experiences of both organizations.

The Women's Bank is a cooperative society built, owned and operated by and for poor women in Sri Lanka. It was incorporated under the Cooperative Societies law in 1991 as a District Society and upgraded to national level in 1998 as the Sri Lanka Women's Development Services Cooperative Society Ltd (Women's Bank).

SEVANATHA is continuing its relationship with the relevant government institutions in Sri Lanka. The Urban Development Authority is one of the key institutions with whom SEVANATHA is currently implementing a Community Mobilization Program in Muwadora Uyana resettlement project.

The UDA was established by an Act of parliament bearing No 41 of 1978 with a view to promote integrated Planning and implementation of Economic social and physical development of the areas declared by the Minister in-charge of the subject of Urban development.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has provided funding support for implementing the MWRP in number of cities of Sri Lanka since 2017. SEVANATHA has been one of the MWRP grantees who has implemented the MWRP in Dehiwala Mount Lavinia Municipal Council (DMMC) area during 2017 to 2020.

The Development Innovations Group (DIG) is the USAID’s Prime implementing partner of the Municipal Waste Recycling Program (MWRP). The DIG has executed the MWRP in Sri Lanka including the DMMC’s Project.

SEVANATHA has been working in collaboration with Colombo Municipal Council since 1998 when it implemented the UNDP/UN Habitat supported Urban Management Program (UNP) in the City of Colombo. Since the year 2011, SEVANATHA and CMC jointly implement a project funded by the UK Government through Homeless International, UK which is known as Colombo Community Empowerment Project. The CMC and SEVANATHA partnership helps in finding solutions to the problems of underserved communities in Colombo.

Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) is the largest Local Authority in Sri Lanka and one of the oldest in South Asia. Established in 1865, it has grown into a large organization catering to the needs of a resident population of 647,100 (2001 census) and a floating population of nearly 500,000 (estimated).

SEVANATHA has been working with the Municipal Council of Nuwara Eliya since 2002, with the implementation of UNDP/UN Habitat supported project called, Localizing Millennium Development Goals, UNDP/GEP/SGP supported Environment Improvement Project in 2006 and UNDP/UN Habitat supported Pro Poor Shelter and Livelihood strategy Project in 2009. Currently SEVANATHA and the Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council jointly implement a Housing and Livelihood Improvement Program for the poor under the ACHR/ACCR funding support.

Nuwara Eliya Municipal Council was established in 1949 to handle all aspects of development within the city. The Municipal Council of nuwara eliya is also responsible for all events conducted in the city. Preceded with her exotic sceneries, Climate, Culture and weather, the Garden city of Nuwara Eliya has been a tourist attraction for many decades.

SEVANATHA has been maintaining its collaboration with the Batticoloa Municipal Council since 2009 with the implementation of UNDP/UN Habitat supported Pro Poor Shelter and Livelihood strategy Project in the city. Currently, SEVANATHA and the Batticoloa Municipal Council jointly implement a Housing and Livelihood Improvement Program focusing on poor under the city under the ACHR/ACCR funding support.
